Wellness White Paper
Wellness Toolkit
As consumer-directed care continues its march forward, wellness has
become one of the last best hopes to rein in escalating healthcare costs.
Employers are hearing a lot about WHY they should be offering health and
wellness programs, but no one is telling them HOW to do it in a practical way.
That is, until now.
Lancaster County Business Group on Health (LCBGH) developed a
user-friendly toolkit to show employers how to turn existing resources into a
customized health and wellness program that can be taken to
management.
In
celebration of its twentieth anniversary, LCBGH invited a group of employers,
insurers and providers with demonstrated interest or expertise in preventive
healthcare to serve on a Task Force to assess wellness issues in
After assimilating months of investigation and shared experiences, the
Task Force succeeded in developing a single source for employers to promote the
benefits of worksite wellness to both employees and company management, while
eliminating obstacles that typically prevent smaller companies from promoting
worksite wellness.
The toolkit lays out a step-by-step process to assess company readiness,
determine a course of action, organize a plan, present a proposal, implement the plan and measure results.
LCBGH has taken the project a step further, negotiating discounted rates
with Wellness Councils of America (WELCOA), one of the nation’s most trusted
voices in worksite wellness, for cost-effective products employers can
incorporate in launching company wellness initiatives.
The toolkit is free to members on the “members only page” or $50 to
non-members, who may pay with check, Visa or Master Card. Please
